Report: | The assassins arrived in Cowbridge disguised as squash players (clever !) and the unsuspecting B's, well, they fell for it big time!
The first players to engage in close quarters 1 to 1 combat were Dan and agent Ryan. Dan sensed he was in danger and reached for his Technifibre Carboflex 125 but it was no match against Ryan's Beretta 418 and the naive northerner was carefully taken out 3-1.
Alex was on high alert due to the adrenaline of the situation but mainly because he hasn't drank for 2 months and can't get to sleep anymore. The Vale had sent their best hit woman Gemma to do the job but Alex was ready and there would be no chivalry in this encounter as Alex took out his opposing asset 3 nil.
Meanwhile catatonic Chris was relaxing on Hamlet, enjoying a cigar and a rare night of not playing at 1. He just didn't see Bleddyn, who sneaked up quietly and took him by surprise. A classic move! In the warm-up, Chris talked about not turning up next week but as he went 7 nil down in the first, the crowd wondered if he was going to turn up this week! He did, but not for long and Bleddyn took him out with a revolver and some razor-sharp squash.
With 2 men down it was Si, who had to take on the baby-faced assassin! This apprentice agent is so secret he can't even be named for legal reasons. And also so his footy team don't find out he eats pie and chips in the week! Shhh. Anyway, whilst Si had the silver hair, Dan (oops) had the golden gun and the crafty fox was dispatched quicker than a politician's expenses claim.
Things were looking bleak but suddenly there was hope and in a dramatic plot twist, we unleashed Liam, the Jason Bourne of the B team! The lead characters went head to head in the final scene and the climax of the night but Alex was the ultimate hit man. Probably the best we've seen since Pete Waterman in the late 80s and after an epic struggle he finally finished off the best we had.
A few pints in the rugby club (shaken not stirred) took the edge off the loss but don't tell anyone about the food. That was for your pies only. |
