Report

Report:There was a huge sense of relief when the lads from Maesteg managed to find their way to Cowbridge without too many dramas! Thank god for Google maps.

Al kicked the match off for the home team. Fresh from the masters, he was doing his best not to swear, (good boy) but this level of concentration was taking its toll on the tourettesy talisman and he drifted in and out of focus, letting Rhys back in the game. Finally, he couldn't hold back any longer and in a tiny tantrum he asked for 'quiet on the balcony' and the crowd peacefully observed the 3-2 win.

Chris wasn't driving tonight and went on next so he could get on it asap! On a Tuesday too! His opponent tonight was Michael, also fresh from the masters but not looking quite as good as his Squash Levels profile pic. His biceps looked much smaller in real life. Anyway, despite Chris carrying a bit of extra weight and looking more curvaceous than usual, there was to be no candle lit dinner for the Maesteg Casanova. 2 nil Cowbridge.

Meanwhile, Dan was prowling on centre court and with his masters quarter final loss still weighing heavily on his mind, you could only pity his next opponent who would feel the wrath. Poor Lee, who'd only been dragged out of a youth club minutes before the game, was the sacrificial lamb. The game was over quickly and as Cowbridge sped off with the match, Lee sped off in his 4x4 to his 'smoking hot' wife. (Neil's words not mine).

Mrs Sainsbury wasn't the only one that was smoking as over on Hamlet Tim was on fire! The B's needed a super-sub tonight and called on Mr Nicholls to step up and put in a top performance. James could only watch in horror in his McEnroe headband as Tim racked up the points even though he'd already ran a 10k earlier in the day cos he thought he wasn't playing!

In the last game, Simon was taking on Neil who was another player fresh from the masters although Neil looked the opposite of fresh. Off? I've been on the receiving end of Neil's backhand straight into the nick at 100mph and it's not nice but tonight they were all hitting the tin. It was reported later that the noise could be heard all the way up the Llynfi Valley! Simon, like a true assassin showed no mercy and dispatched the out of sorts number 2 in straight sets.

Over in rugby club however it was role reversal as Neil drank Simon under the table in an expert display. Simon is now facing an anxious few days and is expecting at least a 10% drop on Drink Levels....... It was great to see the Maesteg boys again. Let's hope they made it back ok. 3 rings lads, 3 rings!
