Report

Report:Match report by Tim E

Another night of exhibition squash for you as Cowbridge B took on the Bridgend Boyz.

Now full disclosure. I arrived a little late for this one so didn't actually get to see the first 2 games so I extrapolated the results based on how the players looked post match. Al Jenkins still looked like a dodgy fire extinguisher salesman but I could see he was sweating more than he might have liked. Apparently he is "off the booze" again and back to the hemp seed, quinoa and meditation plan. Graham had burnt him in the first but it was Al who extinguished him on the night. 3-1.

Si was harder to read. He still looked like a Div 1 box league player but he dressed up tonight. Instead of the usual lumberjack theme there was something businesslike about him. Turns out he was the acting captain tonight. Personally I think he was making up for something. I heard Dan tell me that I was his favourite anyway. Regardless it was business as usual as he took on Mike. 3-0

The poster boy of the Cowbridge B squash team. So good that they named a fruit juice after him it was a pleasure to see Dave Robinson playing tonight. Like a rare Pokémon for the B team he was unleashed tonight and was super effective against Neale who mustered a good defence but failed to draw any blood. 3-0

When Ben had first clocked Tim he recognised him as "that git whose not particularly special at squash but ran around a lot". Apparently so much that the algorithm on Squash levels told him he had a 0% chance of victory. Seemed a little harsh but you can't argue with science. Science prevailed but Tim felt hurt by the words used to describe him at post match beers. Sticks and stones. Tim's mum still thinks he's special so lay off. 3-0

The last game of the night was up to the 2 seniors. Apparently Chris got a little upset after Neale asked him how he'd got on in the over 55s at the Masters. I'm not sure why? I guess some people are a little more touchy than others. That said Chris ran good for his age and dispatched Rich in 4 games. Well done Chris.

It ended with 3 shades of beige. Pizza, chips, beer and not a vegetable in sight. A great end to an enjoyable night. Thanks Bridgend it was a pleasure.
