Report

Report:Notes:
Porthcawl could only field 4 players and told us in good time. String 5 awarded to Cowbridge 3 nil.

Lewys Audsley retired injured after the second game in the string 1 match.

Match report:

After shipping 20 points in the opposing fixture only a week ago, Porthcawl were visibly thrilled to see Cowbridge again. But with the home team's no 1 and 5 out injured with a hamstring and a dubious wrist injury respectively, there was a glimmer of hope for the beach boys of South Central 2.

It didn't last long and with the ink still drying on his latest boarding pass, Ray took to centre court with a swagger. Not from the beer though, he only drinks alcohol free these days! This was his last game before another holiday and he finished his season in style, wrapping up the game in straight sets and sending Ian packing! 1-0

The away team's injury list was worse than the home side's so poor Lewys was patched up and sent on to face the Silver Fox in the first string game. Si was almost passing out with the smell of deep heat but held his nose and his nerve to Pyle the pressure on the Porthcawl pup, who was eventually carried off after the second game. 2-0

Time for the Golden Retriever to chase a few balls right? NO! Instead of his usual match preparation of running marathons and eating haribos, Tim had been away all weekend learning how to build dry stone walls! A far cry from hypno-birthing classes but is there no end to this guy's repertoire? In a pathetic attempt to include some dry stone walling bants, Hywel had 'faced' strong opposition in the past but struggled to 'cope' with Tim and was mortar-fied by the result. 3-0 [the author acknowledges that mortar is not actually used in dry stone walling.]

With only 4 matches on tonight, the pies were put in the oven early and Al went on last to play Simon with everyone watching. Just how he likes it. All the attention, all the pressure, the Raging Bull was playing for his life, his squash levels, and his place in the B team in September! Easter was a distant memory for some but this was Al's personal resurrection as he rose from the dead and took down the overweight Welsh international. 4-0

Over in the rugby club Tim confessed to being a Leeds fan (scum) as we had to endure them play out a boring nil nil draw on the Tele, much to Ray's disgust! The highlight was the penalty shout late in the game which Tim obviously claimed was "stone wall".
