Take a seat. Put your feet up. Let me take you through another sporting exhibition at the one and only Cowbridge SC headquarters.
Dan the man. Best captain in the league. Oh hold on. He's buggered off to Spain you tell me? In the middle of a squash season you tell me? Panic set in. Like sheep without a shepherd Cowbridge arrived void of leadership tonight. Did that matter? Did it bush.
Binary Al vs Owen. Al, known for his all or nothing approach. Owen known for his match betting scandals. It started in Owens favour as he took the first game. I'm only assuming he did so to swing the odds and then cash in as he threw the match 3-1. 3 points Cowbridge but a new car for Owen. Whose the real winner?
Simon arrived with excuses. "Recovering from a cold sore". Eager to drop out. Fortunately the captain pulled rank and his selection was mandatory. Sadly for Jamie, Simon the previous seasons "top banker" for Cowbridge Bs showed no weakness. He may not know which side he's serving but he's really good at squash. Cowbridge 2
I only saw Chris after his game with Tom. He looked sweaty and tired. I asked him for a report. He said he had completed it. Read into this as you like because to tell you the truth I didn't see any of the game. Instead I'll use this space to shake my preverbal fist at those thieving little rascals that broke into the House of Cowbridge Squash to steal some pocket money to pay for their pick n mix. Cockroaches have better personal qualities.
Next up Tim and Sam. The tone of the evening had been set and Cowbridge were not taking any prisoners. Tim did his usual dog-ball thing which frustrated his opponent. It's like playing against the wall. There was no escaping the annoying persistence of the energetic mutt.
Jimmy was to close off the victory against Dan and he did so in style. This man is an absolute pleasure to watch. While he goes by many names tonight the master chocolatier was stirring up a new magic recipe #inspiration #Jimmylobs
Big shout out to Cardiff D tonight. Especially those lads who were playing up. Who needs points when you've got pints of beers (a small orange juice #allornothingAl) sausages, chips and a new seasons trough of beans. |
