Report

Report:A new year, a new season and some new faces kicking around Cowbridge this evening as the B's hosted Llanishen in the 'all new' South East Division 1 or whatever it's called.

Not everything was new though as there was an old bloke on Court 2 warming up with Ash's old man. The Crafty Fox underlined his reputation of being Mr consistent (yawn) by winning 3 nil (again) and making all the game scores exactly the same. 1 nil MooToon.

Dan was swanning around the place, name dropping about being in the Portuguese Masters. He'd had an Israeli and a Kuwaiti for breakfast at the weekend but had to settle for a Full Welsh tonight, dispatching poor Phil in straight sets. It won't be so easy for the jet-setting Geordie at the weekend in the Welsh Closed. Unless he draws Dave Robertson of course. (Too soon?) 2 nil Cowbs.

The retriever (a well trained mutt but actually medically trained in real life) had already spent the whole day looking after poorly people but still found the time to deal with his opponent's blood injury and put a little sticky plaster on his head. This was after smacking him in the face with his racket though, completely misinterpreting the call for 'strike action'. Tom recovered well and won the game. 2-1 to the B's and all to play for.

The Ice Man was still visibly pumped after the win against Killer Killshaw last week (who should probably be renamed Kitten Killshaw now) and proved to be a handful for Owain, who couldn't keep his hands to himself. A level of touching not seen since the 1970s, had Chris moving at pace around the court, yelling "chase me, chase me", goading his opponent. What a tease. Despite Owain's good hands, Chris slipped away and took the 5 setter, handing the match to the Bridge.

With all the excitement over, the crowd needed a lift so the Mātre d summoned the Master Chocolatier to do what he does. Jimmy had obviously had a great Christmas and was carrying so much beef that even Grok would be reluctant to undress him. But one thing that never changes is this kid's flair. Scott tried everything and was looking good in the 3rd but Jimmy was just...... Jimmy, and the rest is history.

Over in the Rugby club, Si sat right opposite Sean (obvs) and seemed very excited at the thought of a night at the big man's house while his wife was away. And for the stat lovers out there, it's 18 straight wins for 'The Invincibles' begging the question: what's the record Nick?
