Report

Report:*Note: Cardiff's string 4 player was Tom Lynn but I couldn't find him in the list.

Full match report:

The new look B team had to wait an extra week to get started after the first fixture was postponed. This was just enough time for players to injure themselves and we started the season like every other, scratching round for players to make up a team.

Tony, having vowed not to play team squash again, couldn't resist the call up and was hastily ranked in time to play. He dispatched a lacklustre Tim 3-0 to give Cowbridge an early lead.

Si started poorly and was 1 down but soon settled, found his groove, his length and width (sooo boring) and wrapped up the second game against Steffan, 3-1, in a game that was "expertly reffed" according to both players. 2 nil Cowbridge.

Meanwhile, the Lynn Bros were diligently observing the new 20mph speed limit, all the way from Cardiff, so while the 2's and 4's patiently waited, the No1 string match got underway.

Chris soon found himself 2 nil up and cruising so decided to make a game of it.... kindly letting Joe win a couple to set up a deciding 5th game, which he won! 3 nil Cowbridge and game over.

Dan and James had the chance to put the icing on the cake but the Lynn bros had other ideas. And even though they both looked knackered after a few rallies, they took the Cowbridge pair to the cleaners, both winning 3-1 and making the overall result a 3-2. Never trust a car salesman!

Back at the rugby club, Chris had kindly stayed awake and laid on a midnight feast for the sweaty crew. The Tin man didn't disappoint either and set out his stall early for the new season, showing off yet more pristine trainers and some 'love island' style joggers! Not seen corduroy that thick since the late 70s. They must be coming back in!
